Signing Up

On your first visit to SFWC, your must sign up for it. This applies even if you're already a registered user of FreeERISA.com, or you have already purchased other JDA products.

The easiest way to sign up is to call one of our knowledgeable salespeople at 800-231-0669.

Purchasing

If you prefer the do-it-yourself route, please feel free to click on the "Get Pricing / Sign Up For a New Account" button. This will take you to a screen that looks something like this:

You can select a National dataset, or you can customize your selection by choosing any of our pre-defined regions. Please note that these regions refer to where the company's headquarters is located, not necessarily where the company self-funds.

Once you've selected the area you want, click "Enter Billing Information" and you will be asked to input a few standard billing items such as address and method of payment. Once this portion is completed, you will be taken to a page that confirms your purchase. As an additional confirmation, an e-mail will be sent to you with your billing details.

If you paid by credit card, you can start using SFWC immediately using your e-mail address and the password you selected. If you selected "Bill Me Later," a JDA representative will contact you shortly to activate your account.

The Search

Once you have an account and you're ready to get started, go to http://www.freeerisa.com/sfwc and enter your e-mail address and your password in the upper right. Click "Go." This will log you in.

The Welcome Screen

Once you're in the system, you will see:

  • At the center of the page are basic instructions for using SFWC.
  • At the upper right you will see information on the account you are using, the dataset to which you have access, as well as links to logout, contact JDA, return to FreeERISA, and open this help file. It should look something like this:
  • Down the left hand side are your display and search criteria. This is where the magic happens.

Display Criteria

The display criteria allow you to specify how your results will appear. You can indicate how many records you'd like to see on each page, how you want the results to be sorted, and whether you'd like to see only large self-funded companies or whether you'd like to see smaller self-funded companies. Many of these small companies are likely members of pooled self-funded associations and are included as a bonus at no extra cost to you.

Search Criteria

The search box contains several useful fields. You can search by a specific state - either where a company self-funds or where their headquarters is located. Bear in mind that a large company will likely self-fund in multiple states, but all companies are headquartered in only one location.

You can input an industry code to search, or click on the "Code(s) to Search" links to pull up a list of industry codes.

Finally, you can search by ZIP code, a company name, or a range of employee sizes.

Once you've entered your criteria, simply hit the "Search" button and your results will display (either search button will work).

If you want to start from scratch, click on either clear button and all the fields will be reset.

The Results

Your results include a company name, address, HR of financial contact, phone number, an approximate number of employees, the states in which that company self-funds, and a list of all industries the company is involved in.

The search box will remain on the left side of the page, so any time you'd like to change your display or search criteria, you may do so.

Exporting

Exporting is what really allows you to take full advantage of SFWC. It allows you to take the data out of our system and put it into yours. You can add brokers to any database: Excel, ACT, SQL, Access, any client management software, or even your address book!

Once you've searched and pulled up the results you want to export, click on the "Export Data" button on the right of the results page.

Your export will, depending on your browser and computer settings, open up in Microsoft Excel. It should look something like this:

Now the rest is up to you! Save this as an Excel file, import it into whatever database you like, delete entries you don't want, etc. The power of the SFWC database is yours to command!
